Re "Legislature should stay out of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict." (Viewpoints, July 5): As a member of California's over 100,000 Azerbaijani community, it is shocking that California, one of the most diverse and accepting states in this great nation, would cater to one powerful and vocal ethnic minority group (the Armenians) at the expense of another (the Azerbaijanis), in direct contradiction to federal level international policy. However, that's exactly what Assembly Joint Resolution 32 does.

Furthermore, with one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation, massive budget deficit and relentless cuts to education in California, I agree with Elnur Aydinov and would hope state legislators would have better things to do with their time than venture into ethnic conflicts around the globe.
