Sacramento's weather will trend hot after a comfortable Friday

Friday’s weather should be tolerable, but by Monday triple-digit heat is forecast to return to Sacramento.

Slightly below normal temperatures on Friday are forecast to warm to several degrees above normal by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. The high on Friday is expected to be 89 degrees.

However, with a high pressure system exerting its influence, the high on Saturday is expected to creep to 94 degrees and rise to 98 degrees on Sunday. The normal maximum temperature for mid-July is around 93 degrees.

The hottest day in the 7-day advance forecast for Sacramento is Monday when the high is predicted to be 100 degrees:

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. South wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 94. South wind 6 to 8 mph becoming west southwest in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 62. South wind around 10 mph.

Sunday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 98. South southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 64.

Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 100.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 95.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.
