Re "Immigrant children deserve compassion, not taunting" (Forum, July 6): I am, like most citizens of the USA regardless of political persuasion, a compassionate person. I am saddened to see and read about the plights of the thousands of people coming into the United States from the Central American States.
However, we have surpassed some time ago what this nation's infrastructure, natural resources and economy can sustain. This nation's most crippling challenge and the source of dismay is, and has been for at least two decades, overpopulation.
