What happened with the home invasion of George Edward Haynie Jr.? Did they ever find the people that did this?

– Rev. Anthony Gomez, Sacramento

George Edward Haynie Jr., 26, was fatally shot at a south Sacramento residence Dec. 13, 2003, during what police said was a home-invasion robbery.

According to stories in The Bee, at least three masked men forced open the door of a home in the 5200 block of Village Wood Drive near Franklin and Cosumnes River boulevards about 2 a.m. They held occupants of the home at gunpoint, and at one point, Haynie was shot in the abdomen.

Police said the intruders then fled in a dark-colored, four-door car.

No arrests were reported in the case.
