Two Sacramento men were arrested Tuesday in Rocklin on suspicion of stealing five custom Tillamook vehicles that being used on a cheese tour, according to the Manteca Police Department.

Brian Lancaster, 32, and Ryan Monaco, 38, were arrested at a traffic stop by the San Joaquin County’s Delta Regional Auto Theft Task Force after receiving an anonymous tip, according to a press release from the Manteca Police Department.

While the Tillamook crew was sleeping at the Hampton Inn on the 1000 block of Bass Pro Drive, the Ford pickup pulling the trailer with three custom VW Micro-Buses inside were all stolen early Saturday morning. The mini buses are valued at $100,000 each.

The truck and trailer were found burned in an attempt to destroy evidence outside of Jamestown by the California Highway Patrol, said Captain Charles Goeken of the Manteca Police Department.

Three of the bright orange cars, which license plates read variations of the word “YUM,” were discovered in a storage unit Monday at 8:30 p.m. in Copperopolis.

The Tillamook County Creamery Association released a statement on Monday that there would be a $10,000 reward for the safe recovery of the buses.

After the discovery Monday night, the association released a second statement on Tuesday about the recovery of their “beloved cheese buses.”

“While this kind of senseless crime is shocking and saddening, we are grateful for this happy ending,” the release said.
