Re "Judge seeks final word on pensions" (Capitol & California, July 14): Here's some finance 101 for Judge Christopher Klein: Franklin Templeton made an investment in the city of Stockton. All investments bear some risk, and it is up to the investor to evaluate and decide whether to accept that risk or not. Pensions for the city of Stockton are a defined benefit contribution plan, not an investment.
Potential employees do not and can not evaluate risk with their pensions. Two totally different concepts. Wonder how Klein would see this if Franklin Templeton was coming after his pension?
