Daytime highs Wednesday afternoon will generally be several degrees cooler in the Sacramento region than on Tuesday.
The high on Tuesday in Sacramento was 96 degrees, which is a couple of degrees above normal for mid-July. The late afternoon high on Wednesday is expected to come in at 91 degrees thanks to the influence of the Delta breeze.
The men and women at the Sacramento office of the National Weather Service are predicting more cooling on Thursday. A comfortable 87 degrees is forecast for Thursday -- and Friday’s weather is predicted to be similar.
A slight warm-up is forecast for the weekend, but no century mark readings are in the forecast through Tuesday.
In the mountains, expect showers and thunderstorms to begin developing Wednesday afternoon. Any thunderstorms that do develop could pack a lot of rain, according to forecasters.
