Sacramento residents calling the city’s 311 Call Center on Friday night could encounter longer-than-expected hold times or a busy signal as the result of a phone system upgrade.
The upgrade is expected to affect 311 calls between 6 p.m. and shortly before midnight, according to city officials. During that time, all city phone lines beginning with the “808” prefix will be out of service. As a result, people are advised to call 311 from within city limits, or (916) 264-5011 from outside the city.
Residents and business owners will still be able to submit service requests online by visiting the city’s website, www.sac311.org, and submitting a request directly or by downloading the Sac311 smartphone app for future use.
Call The Bee’s Cathy Locke, (916) 321-5287.
