Gaza conflict: Library perpetuating lies

Published: Thursday, Jul. 24, 2014 - 9:07 am

Re "Desolation in Gaza" (Page A1, July 22) and "Israelis in front row for Gaza bombing" (Page A1, July 23): While approaching the North Sacramento library today, I was confronted with the Palestinian flag emblazoned across the community book there with "Free Palestine" centered across the flag. I am appalled that library administrators allows such biased and politically charged displays in this community.

However, I am not surprised. The Sacramento Bee generates ongoing confabulations and biased leanings when reporting on the Israeli/Gaza conflict: sensational front page photographs of wounded Arab children, sickening cartoons and toxic rhetoric regarding the Israeli/Arab political complexities.

Meanwhile, Israeli relatives sleep with gas masks at their sides in bomb shelters in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, while young family members are helping to defend their country. I implore your readers to seek knowledge of Israel's conflict since 1948 elsewhere and keep an open mind.

I trust that the pro-Palestinian signage in North Natomas is replaced soon by more peaceful artistry.
