Atlanta-based Moes Southwest Grill, which announced in January an agreement to bring more than a dozen new restaurants to the Sacramento area over the next seven years, will open its first local restaurant Thursday in Auburn.
The restaurant is at 2150 Grass Valley Highway, in the Auburn Village Shopping Center. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The opening-day celebration will include $3 burritos for all patrons. An Aug. 2 fundraiser will donate 25 percent of proceeds to Acres of Hope, an Auburn-based organization that provides shelter for homeless women with children.
Moes said that HKM II LLC, a Sacramento-based franchise group, will oversee the California expansion. The HKM group owns more than 40 other restaurants in California, Nevada and Arizona. Moes plans to open a second restaurant in Roseville in coming months and ultimately plans 18 Moes outlets in the Sacramento region.
Moes, founded in 2000, has more than 550 fast-casual restaurants, most in the United States. Moes serves its signature burritos and other American Southwest fare, plus vegetarian, low-calorie options.
