What happened to Rico Lyntice Riley, who was convicted of sexual assault? What was he sentenced to?”

– Natalie, Fairfield

A Sacramento County jury in April 2013 convicted Rico Lyntice Riley of multiple sexual assault charges, including rape and tying up the female victim.

Riley, 32, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison and is incarcerated at the California State Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Corcoran.

According to stories in The Sacramento Bee, the victim was assaulted by Riley and one of her friends after she refused Riley’s sexual advances. The friend eventually left the woman’s apartment, but Riley stayed and continued to sexually assault her.

The woman and her son found Riley four days later, and her son was able to detain him until law enforcement officers arrived.
