South Sacramento gas leak stopped, traffic resumed

Published: Wednesday, Jul. 30, 2014 - 1:36 pm

The flow of gas has been stopped at a gas-line break in south Sacramento and traffic control at Center Parkway and Cosumnes River Boulevard has been lifted.

PG&E stopped the flow of gas, which started before 11 a.m., at around 12:30 p.m., said Brandi Ehlers, a spokesperson for PG&E.

Crews from PG&E will remain in the area until the repairs are complete, she said. They are expected to be finished by 10 p.m.

Sacramento Fire and Sacramento Police departments are no longer directing traffic in the area and no customers will not be affected by the leak, which resulted from a third-party contractor striking PG&E’s line, Ehlers said.
