Triple-digit heat to leave Sacramento

Triple-digit temperatures are on their way out of the Sacramento region, according to the National Weather Service.

Drew Peterson, a forecaster with the weather service, said Saturday is expected to be the last day of triple-digit heat, with a predicted high temperature of 102 degrees.

“The high pressure is breaking down, so things are going to transition to cooler temperatures,” he said.

Seven out of the last eight days have seen triple-digit temperatures. For next week, forecasters are predicting temperatures in the mid-90s.

Here’s the seven-day forecast:

Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 102. South southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. South wind 7 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 96. South southwest wind around 8 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. South wind 6 to 8 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 93. South southwest wind around 6 mph.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 94.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 95.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 93.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 92.
