Rethink Sacramento Commons proposal

Re "Commission scans tower proposal" (Our Region, July 25): Attention needs to be given to the magnitude of this project on city infrastructure. Sewers are not in the best shape. Will they handle five towers? Does Folsom come to mind? Why not first fix infrastructure before doing such a project?

Why ruin the beautiful, irreplaceable park setting that brings something of beauty to our downtown daily for thousands of state workers and the public? The notion that Sacramento Commons is desirable because it's at a transportation hub is ridiculous. People who will be able to afford these units work in the 'burbs. Development is not going to transpose us into a swankier city. It will only take away a jewel in the heart of the downtown that brings happiness to so many each and every day.
