The California Lottery has significantly upgraded its “Lucky Retailers” online site to help lottery players find retailers that sell the most high-paying tickets or the most winning tickets in a year’s time.

The site is www.calottery.com/lucky-retailers.

Updated software enabled lottery officials to identify more than 4,000 retailers statewide who sell winning tickets at a comparatively high rate. That’s out of more than 21,000 retailers statewide. The “lucky” retailers can be searched by city, address or ZIP code.

Lottery officials said the database tracks high payouts and winning tickets over the previous calendar year, targeting retailers that: sold a winning ticket of $100,000 or more, sold an average of at least 400 winning tickets a week or paid out an average of $4,000 or more weekly in winning tickets.

The site also includes “Historical Lucky Retailers,” those that have sold at least two winning tickets of $1 million or more since the California Lottery started in 1985.
