Near-normal temperatures in Sacramento and mountain thunderstorms are expected this weekend.

A low pressure system is forecast to form just off the West Coast Saturday and Sunday. The low is predicted to bring about average early August weekend temperatures of around 93 degrees to Sacramento.

The high Friday is expected to be 94 degrees, following a high of 96 degrees on Thursday. Winds are expected to be light Friday in Sacramento.

In the mountains, weekend hikers and summer campers should prepare for thunderstorms because forecasters believe there will be enough instability to bring rain.
