The City of Sacramento on Monday announced the hiring of a veteran administrator of the arts from Texas to be the new director of Convention and Cultural Services.
City Manager John Shirey said Jody Ulich begins her new duties Sept. 2. Her new job will pay $160,000.
She was hired after the retirement of Barbara Bonebrake.
Ulich currently is the president of the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Texas. Prior to that she was the Cultural Services Director for the City of Tempe, Ariz.
The Sacramento Convention and Cultural Services Department includes operations such as the Center for Sacramento History, Crocker Art Museum, Fairytale Town, the Historic City Cemetery, Old Sacramento, Discovery Science Center, the Sacramento Convention Center, Memorial Auditorium, Sacramento History Museum, Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and the Sacramento Zoo.
