Continued cool August weather predicted for Sacramento: 85 degrees

In the wake of a low pressure system, breezy conditions are expected -- along with below normal temperatures across the interior of Northern California on Wednesday.

The flow of cool air from the west Wednesday morning has produced low temperatures in advance of a mild day. The high on Tuesday only reached 87 degrees. On Wednesday, National Weather Service forecasters are calling for a maximum of 85 in Sacramento.

Other comparatively cool afternoon high temperatures forecast for Wednesday in Northern California:

• Redding: 85 degrees

•  Chico: 82 degrees

•  Grass Valley: 77

•  South Lake Tahoe: 73

• Napa: 76

• San Francisco: 67

• Stockton: 85

• Sonora: 86

•  Fort Bragg: 62

Warmer conditions are forecast to return heading into the weekend, according to the NWS. The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the weather service:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind around 9 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light south after midnight.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 88. Light southwest wind.

Thursday night: Clear, with a low around 62. South southwest wind around 6 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 91. South wind around 6 mph.

Friday night: Clear, with a low around 62.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 62.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 63.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 64.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 90.
