Weather is right for camping in the great Northern California outdoors

The National Weather Service notes that it’s a good time to head for them thar hills because of the dry and mild weather in the forecast for Thursday and Friday.

Pleasant weather conditions are forecast for interior Northern California for the foreseeable future. The high in Sacramento is expected to get to 89 degrees on Thursday and 92 on Friday.

Temperatures are being kept comfortably moderate thanks to a slight flow of wind into the valley from the coast. Recreational areas are also predicted to have good weather for camping and hiking on Thursday and Friday:

Whiskeytown: 85/63, 89/66

Burney Falls: 81/52, 85/53

Downieville: 81/51, 85/54

Echo Summit: 70/44, 73/45

Angels Camp: 90/62, 92/63

Pinecrest: 77/51, 81/52

The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento region:

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 89. Light south southwest wind.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 62. Southwest wind around 7 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 92. Southwest wind 3 to 8 mph.

Friday night: Clear, with a low around 62. South wind around 8 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 92. South southwest wind around 6 mph.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 61.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 62.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 63.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.
