Published: Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 - 11:19 am

A teen hopped a bus after he allegedly drew a gun during a confrontation with a Walmart security officer in South Sacramento, according to the sheriff’s department.

The 15-year old boy is suspected of trying to steal merchandise from the Walmart, 6051 Florin Road, Friday morning around 7 a.m. The boy was confronted by the security guard outside the store and, at some point, pulled a gun from his waistband.

The suspected shoplifter pointed the gun at the security officer and then fled. He then got on a Regional Transit bus and traveled to nearby 47th Avenue and Sampson Boulevard.

There, he ran again, but deputies were able to catch up with him near the 6300 block of Sampson Boulevard. After a talk with robbery detectives, the teen was to be booked into Sacramento County Juvenile Hall, according to a sheriff’s spokeswoman.
