A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times and killed early Sunday morning on Lily Street in Sacramento, police said.

Officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the scene in Sacramento’s East Del Paso Heights neighborhood at about 1:11 a.m. Sunday. The location in the 3700 block of Lily Street was described only as a “residence.”

Police arrived to find the victim, a 23-year-old man, with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to Mercy San Juan Hospital, where he died hours later. His name has not been released.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded early in the investigation due to the victim’s critical injuries. Police offered little information about the circumstances, except to say that no suspect is in custody.

“There is no suspect information I’m able to put out at this time,” said police spokeswoman Michele Gigante. “We’re actively working the case.”

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information about the case to call (916) 443-4357 or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
