Fairfield police released an image of a man they believe either made suggestive remarks or sexually assaulted two female joggers and a pedestrian earlier this month.
The first incident occurred at about noon Aug. 2 when a woman walking on the Linear Trail near Northwood Drive and Lopes Road was approached by the man. He attempted to speak with her but she walked away.
The stranger then made sexual comments toward the woman, according to a police press release.
About 20 minutes later, police believe the same man approached a 16-year-old jogger from behind on a trail near Oakbrook Drive in Cordelia. The man asked for directions from the girl before committing what police described as “sexual battery.”
The teen fought back and the man fled on foot. The teen then ran to a nearby home for help.
An extensive search failed to find the man. The next day, he struck again, committing sexual battery on a jogger at 6:30 p.m. in the area of Lopes Road and Summer Grove Drive.
The attacker is described as a white man, about 19 years old, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slim build, narrow jaw, short light brown or reddish hair and a thin beard.
