Sacramento-based Balanced Body Inc., an international provider of Pilates equipment and education workshops, has moved into a “green,” 100,000-square-foot-plus building.

The company said its offices and manufacturing operations are now consolidated in one space at 5909 88th St. The new site is designed to accommodate staff growth. This year, Balanced Body said it increased its local work force by more than 20 percent, to 142 employees.

The new building features solar panels, skylights, climate-controlled fans, dust-collection systems and a foam-material roofing.

“Balanced Body was founded nearly 40 years ago, and our goal was to purchase and outfit a building that would last us at least another 40 years,” Ken Endelman, Balanced Body founder and CEO, said in a statement.

Founded in 1977, Balanced Body has expanded over the years. In 1995, with 17 employees, it moved to 14th Avenue and expanded into 32,000 square feet. By 2002, it was operating in 55,000 square feet at the former Army Depot near Fruitridge and Power Inn roads.
