Dillashaw gets new opponent for Saturday’s title defense after Barao pulls out

T.J. Dillashaw won’t defend his UFC bantamweight title Saturday night against Ranan Barao, the man he took the title from three months ago, after Barao pulled out for medical reasons.

Dillashaw (11-2) instead will fight Joe Soto (15-2), who was schedule to fight the undercard against Anthony Birchak. Dillashaw and Soto are scheduled for a five-round bout headlining UFC 177 at Sleep Train Arena.

Barao was removed from the rematch after reportedly becoming ill during his weight cut.

Birchak’s new opponent has not been announced yet
