Campus shooting rumors close California school

Published: Friday, Sep. 5, 2014 - 11:02 am

Authorities say they released students from a Central California high school early after it received a bomb threat and rumors circulated of an imminent campus shooting.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said two brothers were arrested in connection with Thursday's bomb threat against Bullard High School, and police are seeking an additional suspect.

According to The Fresno Bee (http://bit.ly/1vXjlmX ), the bomb threat was emailed to the school's principal in the morning. It came after rumors of a shooting at the school circulated on social media and the school was tagged with ominous graffiti.

Police sent 10 officers to the campus as a precaution, and classes were excused at lunchtime.

Police say they don't believe the threat was real. What motivated it is under investigation.

Classes resumed Friday morning.
