SACRAMENTO A Napa couple convicted of growing marijuana in Northern California homes including five in Elk Grove were sentenced last week to federal prison terms.
Daren Wallace Glosser, 33, was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to grow at least 1,000 marijuana plants and distributing marijuana, a news release from the office of U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott stated.
Glosser's wife, Shannon Lea Selle, 30, was sentenced to nearly four years in prison.
The couple pleaded guilty Feb. 14.
Glosser and Selle grew more than 6,000 marijuana plants from October 2001 to July 2005, prosecutors said. The couple used at least 10 properties, including six rental properties. One property was in Napa County, four in Fairfield and five in Elk Grove, the release states.
Residents noticed suspicious activity at the homes and alerted law enforcement to the illegal activity, the release states.
U.S. District Judge Garland E. Burrell Jr. also ordered Glosser to forfeit the four Fairfield homes, a Chevrolet Tahoe sport-utility vehicle and more than $8,000 in cash to the federal government.
