SACRAMENTO Two street-level crack cocaine dealers who were peddling their wares in the Dos Rios Homes public housing complex were sentenced Thursday to federal prison.
Brian Parker was sentenced to five years, and Matea Malae was sentenced to three years.
Parker, 33, and Malae, 20, resided in Dos Rios Homes, which is north of downtown between North 12th Street and Richards Boulevard.
Their prosecutions and three others stemmed from police officers enlisting the aid of federal narcotics agents to investigate individuals some residents and some not selling crack in the subsidized housing complex, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Anne Pings.
She said the local officers reported sales were being made to residents and drive-up customers.
Parker was on parole at the time he sold crack to an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration buyer, Pings said. Malae, a street gang member, was arrested after selling crack to an undercover DEA buyer, the prosecutor said.
