Florin Road face-lift celebrated

SACRAMENTO – Supervisors Jimmie Yee and Don Nottoli are hosting a celebration of the completion of the $3.3 million Florin Road enhancement project at 10 a.m. today at Florin and Florin-Perkins roads.
The project, focused on Florin Road between Chandler Drive and Power Inn Road, included replacement of asphalt medians with landscaping, sidewalks with ramps, roadway slurry sealing and restriping, and Old Town Florin gateway monuments.
A combination of Measure A sales tax funds, Sacramento Housing Redevelopment Agency funds and federal and state transportation funds paid for the project.
It is part of a master plan developed by the county and the redevelopment agency to enhance the Florin Road corridor between Stockton Boulevard and Elk Grove Florin Road.
