Highway officials overseeing construction of a Sierra College Boulevard interchange have pushed back one closure of Interstate 80 in Rocklin scheduled for this week and two set for next week.
The previously announced Friday night closure of the eastbound lanes on I-80 at Sierra College Boulevard in Rocklin has been postponed until Monday night, project officials have announced.
Thursday night's closure of the eastbound lanes is still planned for 11 p.m. The lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Friday. The Monday work also will run from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day.
Eastbound motorists will be detoured at the Rocklin Road exit and be asked to go north on Sierra College Boulevard to get back onto I-80, officials said. Friday's postponement also means that work on the westbound lanes next week will be pushed back a day.
The closure of the westbound lanes will occur on Tuesday and Wednesday, each beginning at 9 p.m. and lasting until 5 a.m. the next day. The work had been originally scheduled for Monday and Tuesday nights. Westbound motorists will be detoured at Sierra College Boulevard and directed north to Granite Drive before being allowed back on I-80 at the Rocklin Road interchange.
