ROCKLIN Beginning at 10 p.m. today, portions of Interstate 80 near the Sierra College Boulevard interchange will be closed as crews continue work on a $25 million reconstruction project.
Traffic on I-80 will be detoured onto surface streets and then back onto the freeway during the nightly detours, which are expected to continue through May 13.
To accommodate detoured traffic, Sierra College Boulevard will be closed between Granite Drive and Rocklin Road north and south of the interchange. The public is advised to use alternate routes.
Area businesses will remain open. Businesses on Granite Drive can be reached from Sierra College Boulevard north of Granite Drive.
For more details, including the detour's evening and early morning hours, call the project information line at (916) 325-4102 or visit www.sierrai-80reconstruct.org.
Construction is expected to be completed in November.
