Sacramento-based First U.S. Community Credit Union on Friday said it will extend zero- interest loans to all state workers whose pay is withheld during California's budget impasse.
Several financial institutions are making similar no-interest loan offers to state worker members or customers who had direct deposit on or before June 30, when California's fiscal year ended. The First U.S. offer, however, is open to new members who sign up after that date.
The credit union, with assets of $230 million, has approximately 18,000 members through three Sacramento offices and one each in Rocklin, Auburn and Grass Valley.
