This isn't just kids stuff. From boos at the zoo to channeling a spirit or two with psychic Belinda Bentley, or dancing with Flavor Flav at the "Nite Tales" event, there's gobs to do if you are looking for Halloween fun. Here's a list of Halloween happenings. We will be updating this list on Tuesday, and look for a printed version in the Oct. 30 Ticket section. WEDNESDAY

Halloween Masquerade Ball: Sensible Sounds Dance Band, prizes. Costumes encouraged. 7-10 p.m. Mission Oaks Community Center, 4701 Gibbons Drive, Carmichael. $7. (916) 972-0336.

THURSDAY

One Scary Nite: Deon Taylor Enterprises and "Nite Tales: The Series" hosts a Halloween party with live music, dancing, a hearse display, a haunted house, a midnight money drop and a costume contest. Celebrities include Flavor Flav, Mark S. Allen, Bobby Jackson, Mitch Richmond and others. 10 p.m. California Auto Museum, 2200 Front St., Sacramento. Tickets start at $30. Swanston Spook-tacular: Games, prizes, a raffle, candy and a spooky science lab. 6-8 p.m. Swanston Community Center, 2350 Northrop Ave., Sacramento. Free. (916) 333-6464.

OCT. 30

Boo at the Zoo: Trick-or-treating for ages 10 and younger at 17 candy stations, plus magic shows, craft activities, creature shows, a haunted house, pumpkin bowling, games and a wheel-of-treats. Rides on the Creepy Carousel and Spooky Train are $2. 4:30-8 p.m. Sacramento Zoo, 3930 W. Land Park Drive, Sacramento. $9 general, $5 zoo members, free for ages 2 and younger. (916) 808-5888.

Festival of Music & Merriment: A Halloween Eve Extravaganza, featuring Pink Toupee Collective, Draw Pinky, Kelp, Hell Toupee, Marty Cohen & the Sidekicks. 8 p.m. Ooley Theatre, 2007 28th St., Sacramento. $7 general, $5 in costume. (916) 996-4308.

Ghost Tours: Tours are every half-hour from 6:30-9 p.m. beginning at the Eagle Theatre, 925 Front St., Old Sacramento. $15 general, $12 ages 12 and younger. (916) 808-4980.

Halloween Dance Party and Mixer: Costume contest, prizes, a DJ, snacks. Presented by the Professionals Guild. 8 p.m.-midnight. Sacramento Hilton Hotel, 2200 Harvard St., Sacramento. $12-$25. (916) 772-7555.

Halloween party: Brick House Restaurant's Halloween party with Crowds Favorite Costume Contest; music provided by the Crows. 9:30 p.m. 9027 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove. No cover. (916) 714-0840.

Halloween Séance: With psychic Belinda Bentley. 6:30-9:30 p.m. Learning Exchange, 1111 Howe Ave., Suite 115, Sacramento. $49. (916) 929-9200.

Night of 1000 Pumpkins: A lit display of jack o' lanterns and a running-of-the-lighters parade. Carve a pumpkin and drop it off from 4-6 p.m. Official lighting is at 7:30 p.m. along Sutter Street in historic Folsom. Free. (916) 768-9781.

Fright Fest: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom transforms into a Halloween-themed fun land with trick-or-treating, costume parades, haunted mazes, zombie scare zones and spooky theatrical productions. Haunted house: Keeping with tradition, Cameron Park youths have turned the backyard at 1855 Delphina Court into a haunted house. 6-10 p.m. Canned food donations accepted to benefit the El Dorado Food Bank. (530) 306-5575.

Hogwarts Halloween: Hogwarts games, treats, art activity. Come in costume. 2:30-3:30 p.m. El Dorado Hills Library, 7455 Silva Valley Parkway, El Dorado Hills. (916) 358-3500.
