WILLIAMS The family of a 2-year-old boy who authorities believe survived alone for six days after his mother, Lisa Gonzales, died has established a memorial fund for the mother and son.
Noah Gonzales is staying with his grandparents, Rita and Jess Modesto of Williams.
A Sacramento County Child Protective Services worker found Noah and the body of his mother on Thursday inside their North Sacramento home. Authorities believe Lisa Gonzales had died about six days earlier as a result of chronic health problems. Noah appears to have survived by eating food, including cat food, that was within his reach in the home.
Donations for the fund, which has been set up through Bank of America, can be made to: R.E. Modesto, Sponsor for Lisa Gonzales and Baby Noah Memorial Fund, 452 San Antonio Drive, Williams, CA 95987
