It seems early to be trotting out reds for fall makeup. That's usually relegated to the holidays. (At least wait until Thanksgiving!) But with fashions heading in vastly different directions from minimalist black to plaids and tweeds the "glamodrama" beauty trend makes sense.
M.A.C's Cult of Cherry collection, which is on counters, was chosen for the fall/winter fashion shows for designers like Vivienne Westwood and Zac Posen.
First glimpse: It's pretty heavy in color (eye shadows and lipstick), but it's easily toned down for everyday wear.
If you're a fan of M.A.C.'s classic Ruby Woo lipstick, which is a vivid bluish-red matte, check out the new Russian Red from this collection.
Since designer Michael Kors has one the best fashion collections for fall (trench coats, sheath dresses), it's appropriate that he adds to this effortless look with a limited-edition eau de parfum rollerball/lip gloss a scent and shade duo. The lipstick is in Bare Vinyl, a sheer nude gloss. The fragrance is his signature scent, which launched in 2003. It's $22 and available in September at Sephora.
