1. Porn Tax VO/SOT
Former California Governor gubernatorial candidate Mary Carey and other porn stars will be at the capitol today for their annual "Porn Star Lobby Day." This year they are lobbying lawmakers to oppose a bill that would impose an eight percent tax on "adult entertainment venues," which include strip clubs and stores that sell pornography. 2. Park Closure Protest VO/SOT
Opponents of Governor Schwarzenegger budget proposal that would close 48 state parks will march from Sutter's Fort State Park in downtown Sacramento to the State Capitol. Some of the marchers will be dressed in period costumes of California's Gold Rush period, the focus of the park's exhibits. Efforting soundbites and video.
3. College Fee Rally VO/SOT
Students who attend the University of California, California State University System and California Community Colleges will march from West Sacramento to the state capitol to protest proposed state budget cuts to college tuition and fee subsidies. Efforting soundbites and video.
4. Perata Letter to Senators and Staff VO/SOT
Senate President Pro Tempore Don Perata has written a letter to several Democratic senators, rebuking their chiefs of staff for not attending a political strategy meeting related to the upcoming election to help re-elect Senator Carole Migden and to have Republican Senator Jeff Denham recalled. Denham's campaign to keep him in office is exploring the possibility of filing charges of forcing state employees to do campaign work. Efforting soundbites and video.

Air Tanker Letter A San Diego area Assemblyman has written a letter to the CAL FIRE director requesting that air tankers be made available immediately. Local fire officials in Assemblyman Joel Anderson's district informed him and his staff that their requests for air support were denied, being told that air support would not be available until May 1.
Green Automobiles- The California Energy Commission and the U.C. Davis Institute of Transportation Studies is holding a symposium on possible methods for reducing the greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles.
Nurses Lobby-The California chapter of the American Nurses Association is meeting in Sacramento to discuss proposed bills affecting nursing education and health care, lobbying strategies.
Republican Women Rally- scheduled for the capitol's West steps at 2 p.m.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is in Los Angeles for a health care event at a clinic opening.
