BIG FISH RELEASE VO/SOT

The Department of Fish and Game and Fishery Foundation will release 350 thousand young salmon near the San Francisco Bay to help boost the record low numbers of salmon. The state Fish and Game commission last Friday voted to only allow recreational king salmon fishing on a small portion of the Sacramento River. It was expected to be banned entirely after the federal ban of sport and commercial salmon fishing earlier this year. Efforting soundbites and video.

PORN TAX HIKE VO/SOT

The Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee will consider an adult entertainment tax that will be boosted from eight to 25 percent in a proposal to tax strip clubs, porno videos and other adult entertainment. Opponents of the bill say the extremely large tax constitutes censorship. They will have strippers and porn stars at the Revenue and Taxation Committee hearing this afternoon. Efforting soundbites and video from morning press conference and video of the opponents in attendance at the hearing.

NEW ASSEMBLY SPEAKER VO/SOT

Speaker elect Karen Bass will discuss the speakership on the eve of her swearing in ceremony on Tuesday. Efforting soundbites and video.

LITTLE LEGISLATORS VO/SOT

More than 800 California fifth graders will visit the Capitol to study the legislative process. They will have the opportunity to introduce mock bills and go through the committee process and signing on bills of interest to school children. In the past students have pushed for mock legislation such as seat belts in school buses and low calorie school lunches. Efforting soundbites and video.
