Marijuana Measure To Circulate Supporters of an initiative that will allow the sale of hemp and marijuana sales in California in any establishment that sells alcohol can begin gathering signatures for their ballot measure. They have until September 5, 2008 to collect the nearly 700 thousand signatures required to qualify.
Leaded Lipstick Ban Senator Carole Migden's (D-San Francisco) to ban lead in lipstick will be heard in the Senate Health Committee.
Clearances for Cosmetic Surgery Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter (D-Rialto) will present a bill (AB-2968) to require cosmetic and plastic surgeons to get medical clearance before performing procedures. The bill is in response to the death of Donda West, the mother of R & B star Kanye West who had a heart attack due to complications from surgery which could have been avoided had she had a screening prior.
