Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez (D-Los Angeles) will conduct his last press briefing of his speakership. He will discuss an upcoming bipartisan trip to Mexico, redistricting and term limit proposals, implementation of California's law to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the transition to new speaker. PRISON BONDS LAWSUIT VO/SOT

Opponents of the sale of seven billion dollars in lease revenue bonds to build and expand prisons authorized by the legislature and governor last year will announce that they are filing a lawsuit. As part of their briefing, they will have people dressed in Arnold Schwarzenegger costumes handing out 15 billion dollar debt invoices to passers by outside the Capitol. Lap Dog Ban Bill A bill that would ban Californians from driving with a live animal on their lap has passed the Assembly floor.

Homelessness Forum Two Assembly Democrats will conduct their second legislative forum regarding homelessness. They are asking directors of the Housing and Community Development, Mental Health, Social Services and Housing Finance departments to testify about plans to end chronic and youth homelessness.

Anti Tobacco Ad Winners The Department of Public Health Director will announce the top five finalists and grand prize winner of the state's anti tobacco ad contest. The grand prize winner's ad will air during "American Idol" in Los Angeles and Sacramento tonight.

Foster Youth Rally Foster children and their advocates will rally at the State Capitol to begin National Foster Care Month.

Pre School Bills The superintendent of Public Instruction and two lawmakers will discuss their pre school related bills at a capital area school.

Health Care Summit The California Education Coalition for Health Care Reform will host a daylong summit in Sacramento to address what they call the growing problem related to providing quality, affordable health care to California's school employers and employees.

GOVERNOR'S SCHEDULE

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is in Sacramento for a "major" community college announcement at the State Capitol and at a campaign event in Norwalk for an announcement regarding the effort to gather signatures to place a redistricting measure on the November ballot.

LEGISLATURE'S SCHEDULE

The Senate and Assembly check in. Various policy and budget committee meetings are scheduled.
