A pair of Pacific Division rivals hookup in California's capital Sunday when Sacramento opens a four-game homestand by playing host to Golden State.
The Kings are coming off an impressive road victory in Salt Lake City on Saturday despite playing without their top scorer Kevin Martin. Rookie guard Tyreke Evans scored a career-high 32 points and doled out seven assists in that one to lead Sacramento in a 104-99 victory over the Utah Jazz.
It was the first game the Kings have played since losing Martin to a fractured left wrist. Martin, who is set to have surgery Monday. is expected to miss a minimum of eight weeks.
Beno Udrih added 15 points and Andres Nocioni 14 for the Kings, who have won two of three and snapped a three-game road losing streak against the Jazz. Jason Thompson ended with 12 points, 11 boards and five helpers, while Donte Greene had 10 points in the win.
Sacramento will also face Oklahoma City, Houston and Chicago on its residency.
The Warriors, meanwhile, were blown out in their most recent game by the Clippers. Ex-Warrior Baron Davis and Eric Gordon scored 25 points each in that one to lead Los Angeles in a 118-90 rout of the Warriors at ORACLE Arena, snapping a streak of seven straight losses at Golden State.
Anthony Morrow tallied 18 points for the Warriors, who have dropped three of four to start the season. Stephen Jackson added 17 points and Monta Ellis 14 with six assists. Kelenna Azubuike gave 13 points and seven rebounds in defeat. Anthony Randolph notched 13 points and 14 boards.
"I am embarrassed about this game," Warriors head coach Don Nelson said. "It was just a bad performance all around early and late."
Like the Kings, Golden State is also a bit banged-up. Forward Brandan Wright is out for at least a month with a left shoulder injury, while big man Ronny Turiaf has missed consecutive games due with a left knee sprain and center Andris Biedrins sat out Fridays setback with a balky back.
The two teams split the four-game series a season ago with each club winning once on the other's home floor.
