State Attorney General Jerry Brown will look into the case of a Carmichael man charged with manslaughter in a fatal Clear Lake boating accident that also involved Lake County's chief deputy sheriff.

An apartment in a Carmichael complex caught fire Saturday night, but no one was injured during the blaze.

A young man who spent years bringing light and sound to the American River College stage was pronounced brain-dead Thursday morning, four days after a car accident killed his friend and left him tenuously clinging to life. Andy Hoover, 24, was sitting in the back seat of a 1986 Toyota driven by 18-year-old Jenna Faeth, who died in Sunday's single-car crash.

Sunday afternoon, as students arrived at American River College to light candles and cry over the death of Jenna Faeth in a weekend accident, theater professor Sam Williams gathered his cast and told them: We'll do the play. We'll do it for Jenna.
