A gunman robbed an Arden Arcade video game store of a video game, according to a report from a Sacramento County sheriff's deputy.

At 3:57 p.m. Aug. 4, a man entered the GameStop store at 2820 Arden Way, near Fulton Avenue, and brandished a firearm, the report said.

The man demanded a video game system. He took the video game and ran out, the report said.

Robber's weapon is syringe

A 25-year-old woman was robbed after being threatened with a syringe in the Arden area, according to a sheriff's deputy's report.

At 3:15 p.m. Aug. 8, the victim was approached in a parking lot in the 4000 block of Arden Avenue near Eastern Avenue, the report said.

The female robber produced a syringe containing an orange liquid and threatened to stick the needle into the victim's arm if she did not give up her purse and car keys, the report said.

The robber then forced the victim to walk 100 feet away and told her to remain there, threatening to harm her if she moved, the report said.

The woman with the syringe then got into a gold-colored Hyundai being driven by a second woman, and the two left the scene, the report said.

Isabel Muela, 24, was later identified as the suspected robber and Alicia Ibarra, 30, as the suspected driver of the getaway vehicle. Both were arrested on suspicion of robbery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and theft charges, the report said.

Arrest reported for gas theft

A 52-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing gasoline from a woman's car in Fair Oaks, a sheriff's deputy reported.

At 3 a.m. Aug. 10, a witness observed the man break the gas cap on the woman's car in 4000 block of San Juan Avenue near Fair Oaks Boulevard, the report said.

The witness then saw the man siphon gasoline from the car of the 78-year-old victim, the report said.

Jacob Chatto was taken into custody on suspicion of petty theft, vandalism and violation of probation, the report said.

Two arrests in AC theft case

Two men were arrested for allegedly stealing an air conditioner in Orangevale, according to sheriff's deputy's report.

At 8:50 a.m. Aug. 5, an exterior air-conditioning unit was removed from its foundation in the 9000 block of Madison Avenue, near Main Avenue, the report said.

The thief removed the unit by cutting its mountings and cables and then drove away in a silver-colored vehicle, the report said.

Kevin Nelson, 28, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and grand theft. A second suspect, Robert Steward, 43, was later located and arrested on suspicion of the same charges.
