Workdays in the garden

The Jensen Botanical Garden, 8520 Fair Oaks Blvd., is the former residence and private garden of Charles Jensen and came into public domain in July 1967.
A group of adults and teens, the Friends of Jensen Botanical Garden, has scheduled Saturday work days to improve the grounds. Workdays are from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants need to wear sturdy clothing and shoes and take work gloves.
Work activities generally include moving mulch, raking, weeding and hauling clippings to the Dumpster. Workdays for 2008 are June 7, July 12, Aug. 9, Sept. 6 and Oct. 4.
