The California Museum in downtown Sacramento this morning hosted a breakfast for 10 California Olympic medal winners. After the breakfast, the medalists were honored at the Capitol and were able to meet Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The medalists, who competed in the Beijing Summer Games last month, included:
Heather Brown, Yorba Linda, volleyball, silver medal.
Erin Cafaro, Modesto, rowing, gold medal.
John Gall, Stanford, baseball, bronze medal.
Natalie Golda, Fullerton, water polo, silver medal.
Larsen Jensen, Bakersfield, swimming, bronze medal.
Gina Miles, Davis, equestrian, silver medal.
Heather Petri, Orinda, water polo, silver medal.
Jeff Powers, San Luis Obispo, water polo, silver medal.
Mary Whipple, Orangevale, rowing, gold medal.
James Williams, Sacramento, fencing, silver medal. (Williams was not able to attend the event at the Capitol.)
