Unify's upturn continues with jump in earnings
Earnings for the first quarter of fiscal 2009, ended July 31, 2008, were up sharply at Unify Corp., and it emerged from red numbers posted in the year-previous quarter as the Roseville software firm continues a comeback.
Revenues, at $5 million, rose 27 percent from the $3.96 million charted during the same quarter in 2008 while Unify recovered from losses posted in first quarter 2008, posting a profit of $391,000, or 5 cents per share, in first quarter 2009.
The first quarter 2009 marks the company's fourth straight profitable quarter, said spokeswoman Deb Thornton.
Revenue from software licenses continue to be a key component of Unify's comeback.
The first quarter results came just days after Unify announced that it would begin trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market.
