Freshman Assemblyman Jim Silva, R-Huntington Beach, got to vote on his first state budget Tuesday – and liked it so much he voted yes and no. First he voted yes. After the vote was announced, he changed his vote, which is allowed if it doesn't change the outcome. According to the Associated Press, Silva said he thought he was voting for another bill. Well, there have been a lot of budget proposals this year.

BUDGET STANDOFF: Day 80
Legislative leaders plan to meet with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today in an effort to avoid his promised veto of the spending plan they sent him. The Republican governor told a rally in Fresno on Wednesday that the proposed budget "is unacceptable to me."
