Attorney General Jerry Brown, who's expected to make an encore bid for governor in 2010, says his campaign has between $7.3 million and $7.4 million "net" in the bank. "The money comes from a widespread group of donors that includes individuals and groups who represent the heart and soul of the Democratic Party, but also money from independents and Republicans," Brown tells Capitol Alert.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger took his budget show on the road again Friday, this time to San Francisco, while Capitol staff scrambled to find a package that the governor and legislators could support. Alicia Trost, spokeswoman for Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, reported that her boss met Friday with the governor and that he "had a drink" with Senate Republican leader Dennis Hollingsworth the night before.
