For Del Oro’s Golden Eagles, expectations have soared

Del Oro High School, facing tough competition and harsh criticism, started 2-6 last season before winning eight in a row and the CIF State Division II-AA championship. This season, with seven three-year starters returning, hopes in Loomis are higher than ever, with the Golden Eagles expected to challenge for another state title.

Following a season that saw one of the great turn-arounds in Sacramento-area prep football history, the Del Oro Golden Eagles enter the 2016 season with designs on more championships. Coach Casey Taylor said he plans to take advantage of veteran team leaders to continue the program's success.
