The El Dorado County Office of Education has hired Terena Mendonca as its new associate superintendent for administrative services.
Mendonca has served the past five years in the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office and prior to that worked almost 10 years with two school districts as business manager.
Mendonca, who will start work Dec. 1, was hired as a result of the announced retirement of Deputy Superintendent Francie Heim.
