The Elk Grove Regional Park has a new trail for runners, walkers and bicyclists.
The 1.4-mile trail, which has been in use for the past several weeks, has mile markers set throughout for people who want to calculate their walking, biking or running distance. Markers start and end counter clockwise at the entrance of the park.
Dog are allowed on the trail if they are leashed.
Construction of the trail cost $283,360, most of it which came from a recreation trails grant from the state. Additional funds came from the district's park capital facility reserves.
