Support Works for Women will start a new class from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Elk Grove Teen Center, 8978 Elk Grove Blvd.
The program, sponsored by the Elk Grove Community Assistance Network, is open to women who have low incomes, are victims of domestic violence, are homeless or are otherwise disadvantaged. Orientation meeting planned
Moms in Motion, an international women's health and fitness community based on fun, fitness and philanthropy, has scheduled a 5K run-walk team orientation at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at Funtastic Play Center, 9882 Waterman Road, Elk Grove.

Comedy night presented
The Cosumnes Community Services District presents "Comedy Under the Stars," a one-night outdoor comedy performance, at 8 p.m. Friday at Laguna Town Hall, 3020 Renwick Ave.

The Elk Grove Community Assistance Network will present its Harvest of Hope Gala from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 9165 Peets St., Elk Grove.
